Sarkar Jewellers
A Legacy of Elegance, since 1934
In the heart of bustling Ahmedabad, Manekchowk once echoed with the voices of hammers and Gold coins. Here, ornament making was a form of devotion to the artisans who had inherited this skill from their ancestors.

In 1934, Patel Ambalal Somnath Sarkar opened a small haat, guided by the thought that jewellery is less about possession and more about preservation. It was about expressing the culture and belonging through jewellery making. He saw every art piece as a thread binding generations together.

His son, Yogendra Sarkar, carried forward this vision with determination. After independence, he witnessed the art of Indian handcrafted jewellery slowly fading as machines came. He recognized the urgent need to preserve handicraft skills. He gathered master artisans, whose hands still remembered the old ways, and celebrated their skills at Sarkar.

Over 9 decades, Sumesh Sarkar passed on his forefathers’ vision, and we became a family space where trust feels as enduring as gold. Inside every Sarkar showroom, there is still the continuation of India’s handicraft legacy.

Jewellery at Sarkar carries the rhythm of a hammer, the patience of stone-setting, and the grace of heritage kept alive. This is why our jewellery still resonates. It feels as though it has always belonged to you.

From the narrow lanes of Manekchowk to three landmark stores across Ahmedabad, Sarkar Jewellers remains what it has always been: a guardian of craftsmanship and a house of heritage. Generations of families have turned to us for pieces that carry deep meaning, and even today, we remain rooted in the same core values: trust, tradition, and prestige.
